Velvet & Fern is a floral design studio led by Charly Lowe.
Nestled away on the outskirts of Cork City, our studio specialises in creating innovative floral designs for weddings, events, product launches & shoots across the country.
Meet Charly
Hi! I’m Charly, proud business momma and lead floral designer at Velvet & Fern.
I have had a bunch of flowers in my hands since i’m old enough to see over my mothers snapdragon patch, much to her despair, when she’d find all her prized roses cut back and set up on my make believe flower stall. Watching her find her happiness in the garden evolved into the obsession I now have with all things nature (love you mum!)
Floristry consumes every moment of my life. When i’m not in my studio, i’m out exploring with the dog, taking inspiration from nature and foraging for unusual materials to experiment with.
But enough about me; I want to learn about you! I am here to orchestrate your vision, to make your special event truly memorable. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know my clients, and one of my favourite moments is witnessing tears of joy in a bride's eyes when she sees her dream come to life after months, sometimes even years of envisioning her magical day.

Ethical Sourcing & Sustainability
At Velvet & Fern, we are firmly committed to minimising our impact on the environment. We prioritise sourcing our flowers locally, working closely with Irish growers whenever possible. However, as Irish weather can be unpredictable, we supplement our selection with seasonal blooms from the Dutch markets, reducing our environmental footprint while ensuring quality for our clients.
We are continuously refining our techniques and methods to align our sustainability goals, We are currently taking concrete steps to eliminate the use of floral foams and single use plastics.
Furthermore, we believe in giving back to our community. We collaborate with various hospitals, nursing homes and charity organisations to donate any leftover flowers and arrangements from our weddings and events. And obviously, we compost!
At Velvet & Fern, sustainability is not just a buzzword - its a guiding principle to everything we do.
